Niagara-on-the-Lake
There is a lot to see and do within a few minutes walk or drive of Cedar Gables B&B. Start by booking tickets to the renowned Shaw Festival for an afternoon or evening performance in one of the three theatres. Spend a relaxing afternoon visiting the area's abundant wineries and antique dealers. If you're a history buff, visit one of the many historic sites. For those looking for more active pursuits, hike a section of the nearby Bruce Trail, try a bike tour, or a round of golf. Of course there is always strolling and shopping in downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake, finished off with tea or an ice-cream!
Within a thirty minute drive
Visitors come from all over the world to view the famous Niagara Falls. Journey behind the Falls, view it from the Skylon Tower or up close on the Maid of the Mist. Enjoy the magic of the Butterfly Conservatory and the excitement of Casino Niagara. Visit the Welland Canal which guides ocean-going freighters around Niagara Falls, or historic Port Dalhousie with its century carousel and the Theatre in Port.
A two to three hour drive
The world's most cosmopolitan city, Toronto, lies just across Lake Ontario and beckons with its lively theatre district, lovely galleries, museums, green spaces and shopping. The lovely town of Stratford is another summer theatre destination with its renowned Stratford Festival Theatre.
